Lufia: The Legend Returns, known as Estpolis Denki: Yomigaeru Densetsu in Japan, is a role-playing video game for the Game Boy Color developed by Neverland and published by Taito and Ubi Soft in Japan, North America, Europe in 2001. It is the first one to appear on a handheld gaming system. Lufia: The Legend Returns is similar to other games in the series, with role-playing video game elements like random battles, it uses the series' 'IP System': special skills are not tied to character equipment. Instead, characters gain new special abilities, by finding Ancient Texts hidden within various dungeons throughout the game. To use those abilities, they must obtain the requisite amount of Spiritual Force. Much of the game takes place on the Battle Screen, where the player's characters will engage enemies ranging from low-level Red Slimes to sea creatures and evil gods. Though nine characters can take part in a battle, only three of them may attack per turn, one per vertical column. Characters in the top row will do more damage when attacking enemies, but will receive more damage.
This feature is not available right now. Please try again later. Lufia II takes place 100 years before Lufia I. Lufia III takes place 100 years after Lufia I. This is made quite clear in the opening sequence, and, if not the exact timing, than at least the order is made clear in the opening scenes of Lufia I, in that the prequel features the characters from the second installment.
In order to make the most of these three turns, the player is able to move the characters around the Battle Screen in between rounds. In this way, it is possible to revolve characters around the field in order to make the most of their different abilities. If a character loses all of his or her HP during a battle, that character will be unable to participate in the rest of the battle, will not earn any Experience or Learning Points once the battle is over; the character will automatically be revived after the battle with 1 point of HP. However, if the player revives the character before the battle ends, there will be no penalty. A new addition to this third installment in the Lufia series is the Spiritual Force, which comes in four types, lets the character learn one IP skill; the Ancient Cave, made popular in Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals, reappears in this third installment in the series. As in the original, the Ancient Cave's layout is randomly generated and consists of 100 distinct levels that the player must navigate in order to reach the bottom.
Lufia: The Legend Returns contains a large overworld map through which the player must travel in order to advance the game's plot. There are no enemies found within the cities scattered around the world, but the overworld and the caves that separate the different regions of the continents are full of them; the quests that are found on each continent are based on the four Towers and the Sinistral, located in each one. On Epsis Continent, players try to repair the destruction caused by Gades. On Lidel, players uncover the mystery surrounding the chaotic Alstadt Kingdom. On Fante, many supporting characters are made to feel intense fear at the hands of Daos, Sinistral of Terror, it is up to players to quell the confusion. Lufia: The Legend Returns takes places one hundred years after the events of Lufia & the Fortress of Doom, one hundred years after the events of Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals; the game begins by outlining the 'Doom Island Wars' and goes on to explain how four all-powerful beings known as the Sinistrals were defeated by a hero named Maxim and his three companions two hundred years ago, again by his descendant one hundred years ago.
This game follows the trials and tribulations of a teenager named Wain, a descendant of Maxim himself. When a mysterious woman arrives in his village one day looking for a 'swordsman', she runs into Wain on the street and asks if he is any good as a fighter. Unconvinced that Wain is the best that the village has to offer, the woman sends him away, Wain goes outside the village to vent his anger on unsuspecting monsters. After the player moves back into the city, the camera pans out, an unknown force appears at the nearby Tower of Death burning down a house in the city. Several uncontrollable scenes ensue, during which Wain rescues a girl from the burning house, collapses from smoke-inhalation, is nursed back to health by the woman, who introduces herself as Seena, a famous fortune teller from another continent, on a 'Great Adventure'. Seena convinces Wain to go with her on her fated journey, the player sets out to see who or what is causing trouble at the tower; when the two reach the top, they come face to face with Gades, one of the four Sinistrals who threatened the world many years ago.
Though Wain and Seena are defeated and Gades escapes, their mission is clear: it is up to them to gather strong fighters and stop the newly awakened Sinistrals to save the world from destruction. In order to accomplish this task and Seena travel north to the city of Albano, where they meet Fugo, the richest man on the Epsis Continent. Fugo asks Wain and Seena to catch a local thief in return for a large reward, the pair agrees to find him. After traveling to the nearby Slani Cave, the duo happens upon the thief, but he manages to escape after calling Wain 'Stupid'. Angry and confused, Wain decides to travel north to the rural town of Majari, the thief arrives to help dispatch a monster who attacked a young villager; the beast is discovered to be one of Fugo's gold-eating pets. After chastising the heroes for not knowing the special value that a gold-eating pet can have, Fugo grabs the thief and the stolen gold and returns to Albano. Seena and Wain travel back to the city and speak with Fugo's daughter Melissa, who gives them a hint as t

Baptist Academy, Lagos is a secondary school located in Obanikoro, Nigeria. The school was established in 1855 by the American Baptist Missionaries; the school is regarded as a sister school to Reagan Memorial Baptist Girls' Secondary School, Lagos. The school's history can be traced to the establishment of First Baptist Church Mission in Lagos by an African-Americanmissionary; the mission was given a parcel of land by Oba Dosunmu and structures were soon built on the land. Educational activities started after the completion of the buildings and the expansion of missionary activities led to a gradual growth in the school's population. By 1886, the school had about 129 boys and 95 girls in the primary section and about 14 boys and 3 girls in the secondary section. Prior to 1926, American pastors of the Baptist Mission acted as principals for the school but in January 1926, Eyo Ita and E. E. Esua joined the staff and in August of the year, Ita became the headmaster; the initial venue of the school was on Broad Street and moved to a new location along the Ikorodu Road, Lagos.
The Primary School section was renamed. Rather than close the Primary School on Broad Street, Lagos; the Primary school remained at Broad Street and was renamed W. J David Memorial Baptist Primary School after one of the American baptist missionaries that started the baptist Mission in Nigeria; the Primary school remained at the Broad Street location until the late nineteen eighties when its building was pulled down in anticipation of expanding the First Baptist Church to include a high-rise business building. All the students at W. J David were transferred to other Baptist primary schools in the area. Deo duce. John Thomas 'Tommy' Blackburn was an American naval aviator, World War II flying ace, the first commanding officer of the famed F4U Corsair squadron VF-17 Jolly Rogers. John Thomas Blackburn was born in Annapolis and raised in Washington D. C. and graduated from Western High School. His father and brother were naval officers. Blackburn graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1933, became a Naval Aviator, was a flight instructor in 1941 when the United States entered World War II. Lieutenant Commander Blackburn was anxious to get into combat, but was relegated to flying the Brewster F2A Buffalo at Opa Locka Naval Air Station near Miami. After several requests for a combat assignment, he received orders in July 1942 to organize VGF-29 as commanding officer and report aboard the new escort carrier USS Santee. VGF-29 was equipped with the Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat. Blackburn assembled a ready room of brand new ensigns fresh from winning their wings at advanced flying school at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi.
Luckily he had the assistance of a combat veteran from the recent Battle of the Coral Sea, Lt. Harry 'Brink' Bass who received the Navy Cross for his attack on the Japanese aircraft carrier Shōhō. Blackburn set up operations at a remote field at Pungo well away from the brass and traffic at NAS Norfolk and was soon promoted to Lieutenant Commander. Pungo suited Blackburn fine as he wanted an undisturbed environment to get the squadron acquainted with the Wildcat and ready for deployment and the combat to follow; the squadron embarked aboard USS Santee in October 1942 to participate in Operation Torch, the Allied invasion of North Africa. Arriving in the waters off Morocco on November 6, VGF-29 flew first combat mission on 8 November but could not find their target, poor weather and damaged homing equipment aboard Santee forced them to ditch or force-land their Wildcats. Blackburn rescued, thus ended VGF-29's inauspicious debut and Blackburn's first combat deployment. Shortly thereafter, Blackburn was ordered to stand up a new squadron.
Blackburn stood up VF-17 on January 1943 at NAS Norfolk. It had a few North American SNJ trainers and F4F Wildcats awaiting delivery of the first Vought F4U Corsairs in February, it was the second Navy fighter squadron to receive the F4U-1 Corsair, the first to fly them in combat, the most successful of them all during a combat tour in the Solomon Islands. Blackburn wanted to motivate his pilots with a squadron insignia which would live up to the Corsair name and chose the skull and crossbones and the name 'The Jolly Rogers'. Harry Hollmeyer, as squadron pilot conceived the original design, painted on the cowling of the Corsairs that were known as 'hogs.' This name was bestowed by 'Dog Ears' Coleman, a young pilot in Jumpin' Joe Clifton's VF-12, the first Corsair squadron. Blackburn named his Corsair 'Big Hog' and together with his executive officer, Roger Hedrick embarked on an intensive training program to get his squadron ready for the planned deployment to the Pacific in August 1943, the combat that lay ahead.
Again, he chose a remote field well away from Norfolk to operate as he saw fit and away from prying eyes of the senior leadership. The squadron deployed aboard USS Bunker Hill and worked hard to adapt the F4U Corsair to the carrier environment, which necessitated some design changes, resulting in the F4U-1A model; the Jolly Rogers deployed to the Pacific, but upon arrival there the Navy decided to land base its Corsairs. The squadron flew to Guadalcanal on October 26 where it received orders to begin operating out of Ondongo on the island of New Georgia in the Solomon Islands, they arrived on the 27th, just in time to participate in providing air cover for the Landings at Cape Torokina, near Empress Augusta Bay on Bougainville Island on 1 November. Blackburn and his Jolly Rogers were assigned the high cover mission for the landings and ran into a wave of Japanese Aichi D3A 'Val' dive bombers escorted by Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighters. Blackburn downed the squadron three more in their combat debut.
On November 8, 1943, The Jolly Rogers faced their biggest test to date when six Jolly Rogers faced an attack of 15 Japanese D3A 'Val' dive bombers escorted by 24 A6M 'Zeros'. Hedrick lost two when they aborted. In the engagement, VF-17 damaged four others with no losses. In its two tours of duty in the Solomon Islands, VF-17 had 152 aerial victories and produced 11 aces. Blackburn ranked third with 11 victories behind Hedrick with 12 and Ira Kepford who led the squadron with 17. VF-17 finished its last combat tour in the Solomons on May 10, 1944 and many pilots were reassigned. Cdr Blackburn led VF-17 to become the greatest fighter squadron with confirmed 154 enemy kills plus 75 probable kills, they barges. No plane they escorted was shot down, not in flights against Rabaul. In 76 days of combat they produced 13 flying aces. Forty years his pilots publicly credited the squadron's skipper for its success. A series of interviews with former pilots and ground crew of VF-17, including Tommy Blackburn and fighter ace Ike Kepford, was held and videotaped at the Glenview Naval Air Station in Glenview, Il in 1984.
That recording is still available on DVD from RDR Productions in Glenview. In 1945, he became CAG of Carrier Air Group
The tornado outbreak and floods of April 28 – May 1, 2017 were a series of severe weather events that affected the central United States, producing life-threatening flooding and a major tornado outbreak. It formed out of a disturbance in the Southwestern United States on April 28, caused significant impacts, including a heavy snowstorm in the Rockies, other types of severe weather. Up to 3 feet of snow fell on the cold side of the system, up to a foot of rain fell in and around the central parts of the nation; the most significant and damaging events of the storm unfolded late on April 29, when two large, long-tracked, powerful wedge tornadoes struck areas near Canton, the strongest being an EF4. Together, the two tornadoes caused many injuries. On April 28, a stationary front drifted across the central United States, associated with cloudiness and showers. By 21:00 UTC, a surface low with a central pressure of 1,003 millibars developed in central Kansas. Shortly afterwards, thunderstorms erupted along the stationary front, which required the National Weather Service to issue some severe weather watches.
A few tornadoes touched down, including an EF2 that caused considerable damage near Cameron, Oklahoma. By April 29, a ridge of high pressure centered over the Atlantic Ocean, this helped focus high levels of atmospheric moisture rising from the Gulf of Mexico along the front, causing immense clusters of heavy rain and thunderstorms to progress eastwards – known as thunderstorm training. After deepening to 992 millibars, the elongated area of low pressure was producing heavy snowfall in parts of Nebraska and Colorado, including Denver. Little change occurred over the next six hours as the front moved eastwards. While the overall setup was not favorable for a widespread tornado outbreak, thunderstorms from earlier in the day left behind an outflow boundary draped across northeastern Texas, resulting in a localized area of enhanced low-level helicity. Deep moisture, high levels of CAPE, low LCL heights were present in this area as multiple thunderstorms rode the boundary and intensified into large tornadic supercells.
A violent EF4 wedge tornado developed near Eustace and passed west of Canton, leveling homes, debarking numerous trees, killing two people. Two more people were killed by a separate EF3 wedge tornado that passed east of Canton, destroying a car dealership along Interstate 20, tossing numerous vehicles, destroying homes, causing significant damage further north in the town of Fruitvale. An EF2 tornado touched down near Log Cabin and dissipated near Eustace, destroying additional homes and a communications tower. Multiple additional weak tornadoes occurred in Texas and in other states that afternoon and evening as well. Overnight into the early hours of April 30, the activity pushed eastward and a powerful squall line of severe thunderstorms with numerous embedded tornadic circulations swept through the Mississippi Valley. Throughout the day, the low tracked northeast into the Plains and intensified, causing some snowfall in the mountainous regions and in colder places, meanwhile severe weather continued to occur in the South.
Forty-two tornadoes occurred across the Southern United States that afternoon and evening, with much of the activity centered in Mississippi. While many of these tornadoes were weak, some reached EF2 intensity. One of these strong tornadoes killed one person and caused damage in the town of Durant, Mississippi. On May 1, another squall line of severe storms developed further to the north; the Storm Prediction Center ended up issuing a tornado watch for parts of New York. The storms ended up producing multiple embedded weak tornadoes across the region. Tornadoes were not the primary threat. Numerous reports of downed trees and power lines were received throughout parts of the Northeastern United States before the event came to an end; this violent, rain-wrapped EF4 wedge tornado first touched down south of Eustace at 5:29 pm CDT, prompting a Particularly Dangerous Situation tornado warning. Damage at the beginning of the path ranged from EF0 to EF1 strength, as many trees were snapped and uprooted, a manufactured home sustained minor damage, a wooden fence was downed.
The tornado intensified as it moved northeastward and approached U. S. Route 175. A communications tower was bent in half, a one-story home had most of its roof torn off, while a large two-story brick home had major damage to its roof structure and second floor. Past Route 175, the tornado weakened back to EF1 strength and turned due-north, widening as it approached the Van Zandt County line; the tornado crossed into Van Zandt County and strengthened back to EF2 intensity at the intersection of County Road 2901 and County Road 2908. Numerous trees were snapped, a house had its roof torn off, a small house lost its roof and sustained collapse of exterior walls, while a third home had a large section of its roof removed. A mobile home was destroyed as well in this area; the wedge tornado weakened back to EF1 intensity as it continued northward, before re-intensifying to EF4 strength as it crossed County Road 2301. A well-built two-story brick home was leveled in this area, with much of the foundation slab swept clean of debris.
Numerous trees along this segment of the path
